ORIGIN
A unique wine from a 2 hectares pre-phyloxera vineyard in Baños de Ebro (Rioja Alavesa), planted with original rool stock Tempranillo 140 years ago. Tempranillo 100%
PRODUCTION NOTES
The Tempranilllo bunches were hand picked at peak maturity, whole, clean and leaf free, in 15 Kg. Individual plastic crates. After de-steeming, vinification was carried out by fermenting in the traditional “Bordelais” method, with skins being in contact with the must. Temperature was controlled at a max. 28ºC. Skins were cleared from the must, followed by malolactic fermentation. The ageing process began, spending 12 months in French oak barrels, Allier, Nevers and Troncais, with different levels of toasting. Clarification was carried out using sterilised eggs whites. The wine was neitherfiltered nor cold stabilised in order to preserve it´s unique personality.
TASTING NOTES

Smooth and dry in the mouth, with good weight of fruit in middle palate. Medium bodied, well balanced toasted notes, and very elegant, showing great concentration, which gives it warm, delicate persistence. Impressively long finish.
